Celebrating PLI's Creative Minds and Spirits at the DMA

By Shaunqula Wilson

Bringing to our consciousness seemly familiar faces or landscapes that peak our curiosity about their history, their inhabitants, and their culture,  images are able to carry us into a world full of unfettered possibilities. With camera lessons in mind and excitement in their hearts, the students in PLI’s 2011 Spring programs have done a wonderful job of capturing snapshots of life’s possibilities through photographs and collages. As adults, we must do all we can to support the creative spirits that grow to be our future artists, scientists, teachers, historians, and parents. On May 10, 2011, a reception will be held to officially celebrate the work of these students in a “Through the Eyes of Our Children” exhibit at the Dallas Museum of Art. We invite you to show your support of these creative spirits and attend an exhibit that features over 60 pieces of artwork from elementary school students in the DISD area.
